The Best Photographers Of All Time
In an art with so many different fields, it is difficult to say who the greatest photographers of all time are. There have, however, been a few whose work not only reflected the era in which they lived, but continues to influence their colleagues and speak to audiences worldwide.
One of the earliest great photographers was Frank Meadow Sutcliffe. His photographs from the late 19th century helped capture a way of life before it disappeared forever. Ansel Adams is another example of a photographer whose work has withstood the test of time. His black and white photographs still set the bar for outdoor photographers. Another all-time great is Henri Cartier-Bresson. Considered by many to be the father of modern photojournalism, he photographed some of the most significant events of the past century and, like Dorothea Lange who is famous for her photographs of America-s Great Depression, was able to capture on film a range of timeless human emotions.
As with all art, beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder. But these artists- unique ability to use a camera to capture the world in which we live certainly qualifies them as some of the greatest photographers of all time.
