Smithsonian: The Smithsonian in Washington DC is one of the best places to see the cream of the crop and they’ve got a semi-permanent exhibit featuring the best nature photographs of all time. If you live in any surrounding area, this one’s worth a trip.
International Center of Photography: Located in New York City the ICP is arguably the best photography museum in the country. You’ll find examples of every type of photography and some of the best known photos of all time.
Art Institute of Chicago: This museum’s got a great Ansel Adams exhibit going on right now and if you’re interested at all in landscapes, this is your spot. There are some days the museum offer free admission so seek these days out and take the kids with you!
